It gives me great pleasure to welcome everyone to the 33rd anniversary gala of the National Supermarket Association (NSA).
New York City is experiencing a commercial resurgence, and we have a once-in-a-generation opportunity to reinvigorate our city’s economy while making it more equitable than ever before. My Administration is dedicated to ensuring that our city remains an accessible and vibrant hub of opportunity for all, and for more than three decades, NSA has worked to represent the interests of entrepreneurs and supermarket owners across the five boroughs. NSA’s commitment to supporting and uplifting underserved neighborhoods and business owners has left an indelible impact on our communities, and its members are devoted to ensuring that New Yorkers have access to food and supplies, while also taking steps to protect the health and safety of customers and workers alike. As you gather to celebrate this organization’s enormous contributions to the five boroughs, I applaud NSA and all of its members for their dedication to providing New Yorkers with access to quality food and improving the lives of people of all backgrounds. Together, we will continue to work to build a better, brighter, and fairer future for all.
