CHARLIE KNIGHT CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER AT THE YWCA OF YONKERS
Charlie Knight serves as the Chief Executive Officer at the YWCA of Yonkers, a non-profit organization located in Yonkers, New York. It is a longstanding community-based organization with a rich history of serving the City of Yonkers and the surrounding areas of Westchester County. As one of the nation’s oldest and largest minority and women-controlled community organizations, the YWCA of Yonkers holds the distinction of being the nation’s first institution to formalize job training for women.
Under Charlie Knight’s leadership, the YWCA has transformed into a multicultural and ethnically diverse organization, offering a range of services that significantly impact the quality of life for community residents, including women, men, children, youth, and the elderly. Some notable programs developed under her administration include the Jr. PEARL Program and enriched The PEARL Senior and Housing Programs.
Charlie Knight’s commitment to diversity and inclusivity is evident in the YWCA Yonkers’ membership, which includes women from various faiths, ages, backgrounds, beliefs, and cultures. Based in Ossining, NY, Charlie brings a wealth of experience from previous roles at Stoney Lodge Hospital and the Westchester Community Opportunity Program.
With a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree from Fordham University-Graduate School of Social Work. Charlie Knight, while possessing a robust skill set, her dedication and contributions to the community continue to mark and positively influence the lives of individuals within Westchester County and the City of Yonkers by serving at the YWCA of Yonkers.
